Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Industrial, Science and Technology business unit in our Amsterdam office. In this role you will support our clients to deliver large, complex (mainly) Data Center projects and programmes.
The Senior Project Manager will act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality, sustainability and safety standards. Next to this, the Senior Project Manager will lead lead project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects.
What you will be doing:
- Manage safety and quality in accordance with relevant policies/procedures/protocols;
- Represent and maintain the relationship with the client;
- Be (ultimately) responsible for delivery of the project result;
- Set-up the Project Execution Plan together with the project team(s);
- Create a cohesive project team and manage it in a way that makes the most of each team member;
- Depending on the scope of the project, manage the project through its relevant phases (i.e. design, procurement, construction and handover);
- Depending on the scope of our role, manage our Turner & Townsend delivery team (i.e. cost management, document controls etc.);
- Manage and supervise 3rd party and supply-chain progress (i.e. CSA or M&E or OFCI activities);
- Participating in design reviews where necessary.
- Monitor the project objectives, report accordingly and intervene if necessary;
- Ensure that the correct strategy is in place to ensure project milestones are achieved;
- Ensure flow of information between all parties to the contract is effective and timely;
- Lead or attend key meetings and be prepared to provide progress reports, collaborate to resolve issues, and communicate impacts to stakeholders;
- Keep the project scope under review including impacts to budget and schedule;
- Identify risks and predict potential delays and action remedies;
- Performing cost analysis where required;
- Generate new business from existing customers, write quotations and participate in tenders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience project managing new site development, pre-construction, or construction phases of projects.
- Successfully delivered large scale, complex, multidisciplinary construction (CAPEX) projects for clients, preferably Data Centers.
- University degree in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical or Civils or closely related field.
- Must have a “team attitude”, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required.
- Influencing skills as well as strong communication skills allowing you to effectively interact with clients, contractors, management, and colleagues.
- An ability to manage expectations, influence change, and report/update accurately on progress drawing on you strong planning and organization skills.
- Strong understanding in areas of MEP and/or CSA disciplines.
- Client-side or GC background is preferred.
- International work experience or working within an international context is an advantage.
