Strategy& would like to invite you to our business course. You, the other business course participants, and an entire team of experienced Strategy& consultants will embark on a unique adventure in the capital of fashion: Milan.

Programme

Day 1
Ready for takeoff to Milan! Today we start our adventure by introducing the case. You will work on an important problem impacting our society as a whole: Fast Fashion. At first, we will gain a better understanding of this worldwide issue; How big is the impact of this issue? What are the fundamental drivers? On which drivers do we need to focus our efforts in the upcoming four days? This day you will experience how to structure a complex problem like Fast Fashion the Strategy& way; using the so-called Hypothesis Driven Approach. We close off the day in a typical Italian restaurant, one of our favorites here in Milan. After dinner, you will get the chance to explore the city in style together with us!

Day 2
It's number crunching day! A seasoned consultant knows his or her way around complex models and big data sets. We will give you a glimpse of our work; How do we quantify ‘fluffy’ problems like Fast Fashion? Which tools do we use in our daily work? How digital savvy are we? You will get the chance to experiment in this arena. Besides working our way through big data sets and performing research from behind our desk, our work also includes lots of field research. This means that we go onto the streets of Milan! We will finish the day in style with high class rooftop drinks and fine dining in the Italian cuisine.

Day 3
By now, you and your team have structured the problem, crunched the numbers, and undertaken field research. Also, you have come to get to know all other participants and the Strategy& team. At this point you already have a good understanding of what it is like to work as a strategy consultant. The job of a consultant will become even clearer to you today. This is the perfect moment to fly back to Amsterdam for a meet and greet with all our other colleagues over dinner and drinks at one of Amsterdam’s famous clubs.

Day 4
On the final day, each team will put its recommendations on paper before presenting them to our panel. This provides you the opportunity to learn how consultants write and present their recommendations in an impactful (and hopefully winning!) manner. Following the presentations, our panel will select the winning team and together, we will celebrate with drinks on our executive meeting floor. With the fun and eventful week behind you, you will be set for the weekend, knowing what the life of a consultant is like at Strategy&.

This business course will provide you with an excellent opportunity to gain an inside perspective on what it means to be part of our Strategy& team. You will become familiar with our way of working, get a chance to meet the entire office, and learn about the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges of a consultant along the way. Throughout the business course, you will be coached as a team, but also individually, by our experienced consultants. This includes a dedicated training and numerous feedback sessions that contribute to your personal development; your team lead will be your personal coach during the week and will also be there for you afterwards. We highly value personal growth and a steep learning curve at Strategy&. Therefore, we dedicate lots of time to this, and thus to you!

We are looking for talented students from all academic backgrounds and universities. Fluent Dutch language is required. Selected participants for the business course will not only have a marvelous strategy consulting experience, but will also get the opportunity to be ‘fast-tracked’ during the formal hiring process for an Associate position at Strategy&.

Selection process

First round: how to apply?

First step is to upload three key documents here before 9 March 2020. Documents to upload:

1. Curriculum vitae
2. List of your high school grades
3. List of your university grades Bachelor and Master

We will inform you in March 2020 as to whether you have been selected for the second round: two interviews with Strategy& consultants.

Second round: how to prepare for the interviews?

We are there to support you with your preparation! We will send instructions to you on how to best prepare for the two interviews. In addition, we organize a workshop on 18 March 2020. This workshop is not mandatory however it will provide you with tips and tricks and gives you a unique chance to practice a couple of interviews together with consultants.

Final: when can I start packing my back for Milan?

Participants who are successful in securing a business course position will be informed in the beginning of April 2020.
