Every year more supermarkets are opened, with more aisles, more space and more products. Consumers however are not buying more, and prices are generally going down, not up. To make things worse, increasingly consumers do their shopping online, even for fresh products. New competition is entering the arena with innovative business models. The retailing landscape will be disrupted profoundly in the coming years. You are the CEO of a large retailer and your stores are getting emptier and emptier… what do you do? Welcome to ‘FutuRetail’.

Our business course ‘FutuRetail’ provides talented students with an interest in strategy consulting a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the work and culture of Strategy& Amsterdam office.

During this 2-day business course you will work together with 20 students to develop a strategy around the future of retail and the impact of e-commerce and online shopping. As part of a team led by one of our consultants, you will gain familiarity with our approach and working style, learning about the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges of our consultants along the way. In between the hard work you will have the opportunity to meet many of our Strategy& colleagues during lunches, dinner and drinks. FutuRetail provides an excellent opportunity to get an inside perspective on what it means to work at Strategy&.

We are looking for talented Master-students in the final stage of their studies from all academic backgrounds and universities who have a firm grasp of the Dutch language.

Selection process

• You can apply directly here by uploading your cover letter, resume, and a list of your high school and university grades. The application deadline is September 11th, 2017
• We will inform you on September 14th, 2017 as to whether you are selected for the interview round. We will send instructions to all interviewees on how to best prepare for the case interview
• The interviews will take place on one of the selected interview days; 19, 20, 21 and 22 September. Each candidate will have 2 case interviews on one day.
• Participants who are successful in securing a position on the business course will be informed personally on September 25th, 2017.
