
Senior Consultant
NewForesight is looking for a Senior Consultant (full time) for the Sustainable Sourcing and Impact team.

The Challenge: With fertile lands becoming more scarce and climate more hostile to crop growth, businesses are looking to apply innovations in the field to successfully expand their operations and grow food in marginal conditions.
Your assignment: Identify innovations that allow for crops to thrive despite extreme conditions, e.g. irrigation methods or greenhouse setups. How effective are such innovations? What are the risks involved? What are options to increase their financial attractiveness? After you have shown the most promising paths forward, you make a concrete case for the client. Where can it set up these operations? What do they need to make this a success? All these details are built into a large dynamic Excel model that explores how to combine everything into a successful business model. The results are shown in a report full of graphs and tables, references to literature and recommendations gathered from interviews with experts around the world.
In your day-to-day work this would translate into:
- Lead projects that drive structural, sustainable change in a wide range of sectors (e.g. agriculture, circularity, energy transition, water and soil) where sustainability challenges need to be tackled;
- Providing our clients with strategic advice on the continuous improvement of their sustainability strategy and their organization’s impact;
- Conducting comprehensive analyses to understand the root-cause of clients’ issues, and the efficiency of their interventions;
- Lead acquisition process and contribute to business development and build your own client base;
- Provide mentorship and nurture the culture of continuously growing and improving within the organization;
- Structure internal processes to enable further development of the organization’s strategy that will help the team and the company grow and excel;
- Oversee the development fact-based innovative approaches, methodologies, and tools to enable fact-based decision making on sustainability challenges;
- Convening stakeholders in commodity sectors around a common sustainability vision and supporting the development of joint action.
For you to make an immediate impact with us, we would like you to have at least some of the following talents, skills and experiences (it is OK if you do not tick all the boxes, we will help you grow):
Consulting and quantitative analysis
- At least 8 years of professional and relevant work experience in highly quantitative roles, including data modelling and consulting;
- Experience working in sustainability related topics, such as CSR strategies, responsible investing, environmental performance and/or agricultural development;
- Proven track record in product development and product implementation, with clear domain of analytical modeling in Excel and other software solutions (SQL, R, Python or VBA);
- Lead the generation of hypotheses to solve complex issues, selecting the most effective analytical approaches and support the team in designing data-driven and fact-based solutions;
- Oversee the development of analytical models, tools and products ensuring appropriate guidance, validation, and quality control;
- Provide an advisor role to the team in translating analysis into client-ready insights and recommendations.
Project Management
- Prioritize the issues most critical to the client within the scope of the project; manages scope effectively and initiate changes in direction, as necessary;
- Ensure most efficient and effective approach for the entire project, considering the client’s perspective and team considerations (e.g. resource availability, skills);
- Comfortable giving and receiving clear and constructive feedback, investing in the growth of yourself and the people around you (360-degrees: juniors, peers, and seniors).
Business development
- Responsible of developing and maintaining client relations and identifying optimal business opportunities. Taking the lead in outreach, tendering, and negotiation processes with clients and prospects;
- Experience creating and validating content that showcase the company’s thought leadership;
- Willing to commute to the office, and travel domestic and international (while adhering to government restrictions and recommendations);
- Respect and appreciate working with different personalities, backgrounds, and cultures;
- The ambition and mindset to be part of the growth plan of NewForesight over the coming years.
