Quantitative (Senior) Associate, Financial Risk Management (FRM)

Our Risk Consulting team is looking for talented colleagues to work on FRM projects in the financial services industry. We are looking for candidates who enjoy solving complex and important problems and thereby helping to build trust in society. Candidates who are inspired by working with different teams and clients, and who are keen to continuously develop their risk expertise and consulting skills, are welcome to apply for the position of Quantitative (Senior) Associate Financial Risk Management.

How you will add value to our team

You will use your technical and professional skills to advise our clients on quantitative modelling challenges in financial risk management. You will work with our clients on e.g.:

  • Improving and re-developing quantitative risk models (e.g. credit risk, market risk, interest rate risk, economic capital and stress testing) 

  • Performing in-depth analyses and writing code to perform quantitative risk assessments

  • Reporting on model performance and discussing your conclusions with model developers, senior management and auditors

  • Assessing and validating internal models against the latest regulatory standards and advising on the required improvements

  • Analysing and improving the quality of data to be used for risk modelling.

You will also develop and apply new techniques such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced risk analytics. In addition, the modelling and quantification of emerging risks like climate risk, cyber risk, and behavioural risk will increasingly become part of your work as a quantitative financial risk management consultant. 

Who are you

We are looking for colleagues who enjoy performing quantitative work and advising clients, who have:

  • A master’s degree or PhD with a quantitative academic background, such as quantitative finance, econometrics, physics, mathematics, or another relevant master’s degree

  • 2-6 years of relevant working experience in the financial services sector or consulting, gained in the field of quantitative financial risk management, modelling and/or model validation

  • A good understanding of either credit risk-, market risk-, or interest rate risk management

  • A good understanding of financial services business and relevant regulatory knowledge

  • Affinity with further developing our expertise in the quantitative modelling of emerging risk types like climate risk, cyber risk, or behavioural risk

  • Excellent communication skills, in English and preferably also in Dutch

  • Consulting, teamplay and social skills, and you enjoy building strong relationships with clients

  • Enthusiasm, positive energy, and the drive to make a difference in a challenging environment.
