
Junior Consultant - International Development Unit

Ecorys’ International Development Unit (IDU) is looking for a Junior Consultant (full-time) to strengthen IDU‘s Public Finance Management & Accountability team.

The IDU leads on Ecorys’ work in developing countries from our teams in Rotterdam, Brussels, London, Zambia, Bangladesh, Ghana, India, and Turkey. Our clients are EuropeAid, the World Bank (WB), UN organisations, the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and other bilateral European donors. IDU’s focus areas are Public Administration & Governance, PFM, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Economic Development, and Natural Resource Management.
What we expect from you
As junior consultant you are expected to carry out applied economic research and consultancy assignments in our core focus areas: Macroeconomics and PFM, Governance, Transparency and Accountability, Development Cooperation Policy and Aid Management, and M&E. You will be involved in project acquisition, project management, and project implementation.
Required qualifications:
- Master degree in one of the following areas; economics, finance, international development, public policy and administration, accounting and/or a related field from a renowned university;
- Experience in economic research, policy analyses and/or consulting;
- Proven affinity with international development cooperation and developing countries;
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
- Academic-level report writing skills;
- Fluency in English; fluency in other languages is an advantage (fluency in French is an asset).
- Some prior work experience in international development cooperation is an asset.
