Quantitative Analyst

NewForesight is looking for a Quantitative Analyst (full time) for the Investing on Impact team

The Challenge: Sustainability presents multiple opportunities for action and impact, and a wide space for innovation. Furthermore, clients, investors and civil society are increasingly asking for proof of positive impact in business operations and projects. Organizations that enable and implement these interventions want to make sure that impact is achieved and demonstrated; and they aim to work effectively and support trustworthy and investment-ready partners that can catalyze systemic impact. 

Your assignment: Support organizations (donors, investors, companies) to develop strategies for impact, with the right instruments to enable, measure and report impact. Drive innovation by developing new ways of working, and advancing the development of new concepts and mechanisms to enable collaboration, accountability and impact. Make sustainability-driven interventions investment- and implementation-ready, empowering organizations and partners in their collaboration. 

In your day-to-day work this would translate into:

• Analyzing qualitative data to distill insights and conclusions to find new opportunities
• Using the power of data and quantitative analysis to drive positive change
• Build thinking models and frameworks to show complex ideas
• Develop documents to capture evidence to support innovation and learning
• Begin to develop expert knowledge on relevant topics in sustainable agricultural commodity value chains, multi-stakeholder collaboration, landscape-level approaches, and organization & implementation
• Being the data-driven support our consultants need to excel
• Play an active role in the growth of the organization with internal (e.g., recruitment, trainings) and external roles (e.g., business development, communications)

Talents and skills

• Ability to form hypotheses and structures, and carry out analysis with an affinity for problem-solving
• Ability to reliably deliver high-quality output, with appropriate guidance
• Think globally and assess issues from multiple perspectives and points of view
• Business development 

Experiences

• Between 1 and 3 years of professional and relevant work experience
• Understanding/experience with sustainability M&E frameworks, impact frameworks and methodologies
• Experience with impact investment and/or blended finance is desirable
• Experience with sustainability standards and certifications is a plus
• Experience with operational excellence and corporate policy development is a plus

• Comfortable giving and receiving clear and constructive feedback, investing in the growth of yourself and the people around you (360-degrees: juniors, peers, and seniors)
• Willing to commute to the office, travel domestic and international (while adhering to government restrictions and recommendations), and prepared to work irregular hours
• Respect and appreciate working with different personality styles, thinking backgrounds, and cultures
• Has the ambition and mindset to become a consultant, and to be part of the growth plan of NewForesight over the coming years.
