Due to the expansion of our Data & Analytics practice located in Amsterdam, we are looking for a quantitative professional who specializes in designing and setting up the data infrastructure and pipelines that enable (advanced) analytics and machine learning.

Your role

As Senior Consultant Data Engineering at BearingPoint, you are responsible for managing data engineering and enablement projects, designing, and developing the best possible approach to solve the customers’ business challenges and supporting the customer and our analytics consultants in using the data for analysis and modelling. During a project, you will make use of the available infrastructure of the customer or set up our own best practice solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading data & analytics projects, delivering quality data pipelines within agreed budget and time frame, managing the expectations of the client and coaching members of the delivery team.
  • Designing and developing data infrastructures that enable solving the customers’ business challenges.
  • Providing guidance and support to the customer in implementing data pipelines.
  • Actively thinking with clients about business strategies and the next steps
  • Signaling the needs of the clients and translating these into projects
  • Actively keeping yourself updated about new developments in the field and commit to developing activities for our growing practice within the European BearingPoint network
  • Help coach and develop junior colleagues in the D&A team, also outside of the context of a project.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of practical experience in Data Engineering, as well as with design and development of modern data architectures
  • Experience with different types of data and data technologies: Databases, data streaming technology, virtualization technology, and one or more of the leading cloud platforms: AWS, MS Azure and/or GCP
  • Knowledge of the basic Data Engineering tools: Docker, Python/Django or Flask, ETL-tools. Knowledge of Cypher for graph databases is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of how to design and implement CI/CD-pipelines and effective development processes.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning, as well as concepts and techniques within advanced analytics, and how to facilitate these with the right technology and data infrastructure
  • Experience in leading teams and being responsible for deliveries
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a consulting role
  • A client-orientated, result-oriented, and can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
