Senior Economist / Econometrist

For our team Social Affairs in Ecorys Netherlands, we are looking for a senior consultant with a background in Economics and strong quantitative skills.

Your workplace environment

You will join a team of 15 high-level dedicated professionals working on projects in policy areas concerning health and social affairs. Our activities mostly consist of economic and policy studies, such as evaluations and impact assessments. Our clients are the European Commission as well as governmental institutions, non-governmental organisations, and private enterprises on the Dutch market. The team works from the Rotterdam office and from home. The option to work from one of our offices in Brussels or Madrid is negotiable.

What are you going to do?

As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in further developing our work on the European market. You will be responsible for drafting proposals and the implementation of studies that include quantitative analysis such as cost-benefit analysis, impact assessments, multicriteria analysis, etc. You will be leading a team of consultants and junior consultants and responsible for high quality and efficient organisation of the work.   

You are a passionate professional and actively contribute to the further development of our work on the European market, among other things by networking and preparing bids. You will interact closely with colleagues, clients and partners.

What do you bring?

• You have an academic background (MSc or PhD in economics or econometry) with strong skills in quantitative analysis and methods and affinity for social-economic research;
• You have a commercial drive and experience with generating work, by writing bids and interacting with clients. Experience in consultancy is an advantage;
• You have at least 7 years of experience with research and advisory work on the European market. Experience with the European Commission is an advantage;
• You have a strong network (such as EU institutions, government institutions such as ministries and municipalities);
• You can work independently and can manage a team;
• You are fluent in English in word and writing. The command of other languages (e.g. Dutch or French) ​​is an advantage.
