Senior SME Policy Consultant

Your work environment: 
As Senior SME policy consultant you will be executing assignments for EU projects in the field of SME policies, You will be joining the team of Trade & Private Sector Development. Ecorys currently has Framework Contracts. You will focus on research and consulting projects and have a leading role in acquisition of new projects. Major clients are the European Commission,  World Bank, Asian Development Bank, etc. Incidentally we work for private clients (e.g. companies, industry associations, NGO’s) from various industries. Examples of topics that could be relevant are:

• Ex post evaluation of private sector development projects.
• Technical assistance projects to improve the regulatory environment for SMEs
• Access to finance studies for SMEs and listed SMEs
• Export assistance and development projects

What will you do?

• Project management including overseeing project delivery, quality control of delivered services, client orientation and conflict resolution experience;
• To lead and provide high quality written inputs to reports, presentations, and other research and consultancy outputs;
• To build strong working relationships across the company in order to enhance and strengthen opportunities for the acquisition and delivery of the work of the sector;
• To undertake targeted business development and build relationships with clients and partners to advance the company's profile and abilities to help clients;
• To inspire and coach your team members to further their personal development and the development of the knowledge-base in the relevant sector(s).

What you will bring?

• A Master degree in economics or related field (exact science). A PhD in a relevant (or related) field would be an asset;
• 10 years of experience in fields such as private sector development, competitiveness, and SME policies;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in project management with at least two projects of a value of over 100,000 EUR and experience with managing a team of at least 4 people. Experience in managing experts in an EU28 setting as well in the developing countries would be an asset;
• Strong proposal writing capacities, evidenced by experience in leading tender submissions for European institutions in the mentioned relevant fields;
• Experience with managing framework contracts will be an asset;
• You are a team-player and you are highly motivated to “make a difference” for clients, Ecorys staff (e.g. through coaching) and our organisation;
• Analytical and quantitative skills; quick learner; creativity;
• Excellent communication and report writing skills;
• Fluency in English and preferably Dutch. Good language skills in any other major European language would be an asset.
