Our Advanced Analytics practice located in Amsterdam is expanding. We seek a quantitative professional with practical experience in advanced analytics and machine learning techniques. Your role

As a Senior Business Analytics Consultant, you perform different roles and have various responsibilities. You may stand in front of a whiteboard while working on the model with the customer, or discuss the model with a team of colleagues. You join and supervise the members of the data analytics team in building mathematical models to address the business issues of our customers. Coaching Junior Consultants in analytics projects and training on the job of is also part of the job.

During a project, you make smart use of the available data at the customer and listen to their challenges to work out what predictive models you should build. This way you provide our customers with relevant insights supporting important strategic business challenges and decisions. You often work in internal, multidisciplinary teams. The mix of commercial, analytics and consulting skills, truly fits with the holistic company vision.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading analytics projects, delivering quality analytics insights within agreed budget and time frame
  • Managing customer expectations and coaching members of the delivery team
  • Designing and developing analytics approaches to solve customers’ business challenges
  • Providing guidance and support to the customer in implementing the outcomes of an analysis
  • Selecting the best advanced analytical or machine learning approach for solving the business challenge (e.g., our unique BearingPoint datamining solution HyperCube)
  • Actively thinking with customers about business strategies and next steps
  • Signaling the needs of the customers and translating these into projects
  • Actively keeping yourself updated about new developments in the field and commit to developing activities for our growing practice within the European BearingPoint network


  • A relevant Master's degree in Econometrics, Operations Research, Mathematics or Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Technology Management, Technical Business Administration or other relevant studies
  • 4-7 years Analytics experience and practice
  • 2 years Consulting experience
  • Analytical/machine learning techniques, knowledge of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics (data analysis, data mining, statistical learning and/or mathematical optimization)
  • Experienced in programming languages, like Python, R, Matlab, SPSS, AIMMS
  • Ability to creatively apply knowledge of analytics and machine learning techniques to various commercial applications
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
  • Flexible attitude and willing to travel
