Interim Group Controller

Task description

We are looking for an experienced financial or group controller for approximately 5 months on an interim basis (could be more, could be less) to undertake all aspects of financial management. You will be working independently or jointly to support the finance operations of the wider Group as well as of a number of smaller entities. Alongside you will be tasked with a number of improvement activities at Group or together with operating companies. As part of the Group Finance team you will be supporting:

The group-wide business performance and budget cycle;

• The consolidation, external reporting, and statutory accounts of the Group;
• (International) tax compliance and tax matters, including transfer pricing, liaising with tax advisors, and tax filings;
• An effective internal control environment, including site visits at operating companies and compliance with the accounting manual;
• Risk management and analysis (including cybercrime, fraud, and corruption);
• External audits;
• Further standardization of Ecorys finance processes;
• Expanding the benefits of the newly implemented ERP system.

Requirements

• Master business economics, chartered accountant (RA) or chartered controller (RC);
• Experience with consolidated accounting & (external) reporting, preferably gained at a professional services firm
• Strong understanding of cash generation in a project-based business, including work in progress, revenue accounting, long term contracts, and bank guarantees;
• Between 6-9 years’ experience – as financial (group) controller / could be partially audit
• Proficient in Dutch GAAP;
• Skills and experience in (non) Dutch taxation is an asset;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Organizational sensitivity, international experience is an asset;
• Good written and verbal presentation skills are a must;
• Candidates should be organized and demonstrate the ability to work on a number of complex areas at the same time;
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills (experience with Unit4 BW is an advantage);
• Fluent in English, spoken and written: knowledge of Dutch language is an advantage.
