About us

In a time where we are confronted with increasingly complex and global sustainability challenges, the question is not whether or not we will deal with them, the question is how. At NewForesight we turn tough sustainability challenges into shared opportunities. Since 2008 we have been supporting the world’s leading multinationals, multi-stakeholder platforms, governments, standard-setting organizations, donors, and NGOs in a wide range of agro-commodity sectors to turn vision into real-world and lasting impact. You can find a selection of our clients and example projects here.

As a NewForesight Consultant, you will be in the lead for the development and realization of strategies, partnerships, programs, governance, and business models to deliver a structural, positive impact in global sectors. You will join a dynamic team of passionate consultants and experts with varied backgrounds. We are all united by our passion for sustainability and our belief that business and markets can be leveraged as a source for good.

As a team, we are proud to have built a culture of personal and professional growth, continuous learning, and open and constructive feedback. Personal and professional development of each of the team members is what we strive for daily, by providing a clear career path, dedicated internal ‘mentors’ for each team member and buddies for new colleagues, twice-yearly 360-degree evaluations, and an extensive system of training to further develop each other’s knowledge and skills, including opportunities for external training and coaching. Despite our busy schedule, we never forget to have fun and take care of each other. Some examples of how we do this include monthly professional chair massages, office parties, informal drinks and dinner, team events, and an annual office quiz.

Our company is growing fast, in terms of the size of our team, our client base, and the professionalism of our internal organization. We are looking for people to join us in taking NewForesight to the next level!

Are you up for these challenges?

The Challenge: It is poorly understood what type of support structurally improves the livelihoods of farmers in developing countries, and what are the economic, social, and environmental returns on investment of this support.

Your assignment: Dive into the business model and strategy of a major multinational and support them by developing an analytical model that will help to compare different intervention practices and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their sustainability efforts. Under which conditions can farms of certain commodities be economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable? What is needed to make that happen? Go one step further by designing the model to provide complete financial statements that enable the client to make well-informed investment decisions.

The Challenge: Certification of sustainable production of coffee, cocoa, palm oil, and other commodities is not delivering on its promise for structural improvement of livelihoods and tackling sector-wide problems. Organizations want to move ‘beyond certification’, but do not know what the alternatives are.

Your assignment: Develop an approach that ensures all producers in a region are incentivized to adopt responsible practices while creating the right scale for tackling sector-wide problems with broad stakeholder buy-in and offering a value proposition to involve both industry and local governments. Drive impact on a global scale by making the approach replicable in other regions and sectors, with an innovative financing structure that leverages new instruments such as (Social) Impact Bonds.

Enthusiastic? If so, you could be our new colleague! Please apply with your cover letter and CV. We will select and invite candidates on a rolling basis.

Latest date to apply is September 28th, 2020 17h00 (Netherlands).
