The Business


Corporate Risk Solutions is the central account management team in Corporate Risk & Broking, and links our clients to our exceptional capabilities and solutions to drive profitable revenue growth. This includes responsibilities for growing revenue and managing a team of colleagues with a portfolio of clients across the Segments of our business.


The Role


This role is for a senior IT project manager to m anage a program of work composed of 4 different pieces from initiation to implementation ensuring that it meets the business objectives, makes effective and efficient use of resources, and completes within the agreed budget, scope and timescale. The senior IT project manager leads and manages the project team, with the authority and responsibility to run the project on a day-to-day basis .

  • Responsible for the overall program management which aims at implementing 4 different IT projects within WTW Netherlands: Document management solution, Placement system, Task management system and Graphic user interface)
  • Support the wider Business country Programme team and Tech Workstream lead to deliver assigned multiple / complex IT projects to successful conclusion
  • Produce detailed project plans including tasks, milestones, dependencies, resources and assumptions on behalf of Project community revising forecasts where necessary
  • Pursue and follow defined Project Management Methodology defined by CRB Technology PMO
  • Ensure change management aspects (communication, trainings ...) are included in the overall project plan.
  • Work with key stakeholders to implement strong governance: report on progress, risk and issues, costs and savings vs business case assumptions ...
  • Manage all assigned deliverables to time, cost and specification
  • Manages risks and issues throughout the life of the project. Plans and takes mitigating action when necessary and escalates them as appropriate.
  • Tracks project costs against budget and ensures project benefits can be realized
  • Communicates with the project team on tasks and achievements, with the wider community on progress and likely outcomes, and with the Steering Group on current status
  • Effective verbal and written communication with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Organize meetings and facilitate workshops as required
  • Ensuring comprehensive and timely submission of project input required from other areas
  • Manages project stakeholders from team members through to senior managers making sure there is buy-in, minimizing road-blocks, and ensuring continued commitment. Effective liaison with relevant Business and Technology areas to ensure accurate and appropriate delivery of projects




The Requirements


  • Strong IT project Management experience
  • Strong change management experience
  • Off shoring / outsourcing experience preferable
  • Previous involvement in transition of services highly desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of project lifecycles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective written and verbal communication
  • Experience of tactical and strategic systems design and implementation
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, using own initiative and providing leadership when needed
  • Experience in a PM capacity on Technology Operating Model
  • Process mapping and re-engineering experience
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office tools specifically: PowerPoint and Excel for project reporting

    Would be useful to have:
  • Excellent track record of delivering multiple concurrent large/complex IT projects with a track record of successfully delivering projects within the insurance industry
  • Experience in managing non IT projects and in change management activities would be a plus
  • Implementation of strong and complex project governance
  • Working with third party IT vendor and offshore teams to deliver solutions
  • Experienced in engaging, managing and influencing challenging stakeholders across a variety of disciplines and cultures in a non-hierarchical environment and getting them towards achieving a common vision or goal
  • Excellent understanding of IT products and services and the delivery of these
  • Strong communications and presentation skills, stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to provide support where required

    Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, including risk management; budgeting and resource management
