The Smart Factory or Industry 4.0 proposition, where we help our clients to design and implement their Factories of the Future is one of SC&O major propositions. Work domains in this proposition are typically Core OT and IT infrastructure, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), Scheduling, Energy Management, Maintenance, Quality and Material Management.


For a major Smart Factory project, run from our SC&O practice in Amsterdam, we are looking for an Energy Management Application Consultant (Senior Advisor level) to join our team.



As an Energy Management Application Consultant you will be expert of the Energy Management Tools that will be deployed in the different manufacturing plants. You will have detailed knowledge about functionalities, features and technical details about the specific configurations in the different plants. You know what Analytics capabilities are available in the Tools and how they work. You will advise the client on how to use the Analytics to identify improvements and achieve these Business Benefits. You will manage and deliver IT projects and manage clients’ staff in the plant.


In a broader sense, as a Senior Advisor in the SC&O practice and as part of the EY Advisory team, you will start to build valued relationship with external clients and internal peers and support bids, proposals and thought leadership. You will work independently as well as in teams at our clients, supporting them with improving their business performance. You will coach and support EY consultants and client team members, perform analyses and report findings and results.

  • Actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships

  • Identify and escalate potential business opportunities for EY on existing engagements

  • Anticipate and identify risks and raise issues with senior members of the team as appropriate

  • In line with our commitment to quality, you'll determine that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer

  • As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

  • Be an active team member and help in contributing to the development of all team members

  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures


You are thorough and result oriented and work together with the client on implementing solutions. You often work in an international environment on projects with a big impact on company results.


For this position we would like to get in touch with Professionals who have a passion for Manufacturing and possess:




  • Approximately 3-6 years working experience in Consultancy in IT and/or the Industry in the field of IT/OT in a Manufacturing environment, preferably with understanding of Energy Management
  • Experience and demonstrable strong affinity with Industry 4.0 concepts, modern IT Tools and Applications (i.e. Apps, MS Azure Analytics)
  • Strong functional and technical skills in OT/ IT Plant Applications (Maintenance/Energy)
  • A bachelor’s degree preferably with emphasis in OT/IT, Operations Management, (Industrial) Engineering or similar with strong academic records
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, drive, enthusiasm, conceptual thinking, communication and influencing skills and pragmatism in execution
  • A proven ability to team effectively with diverse groups
  • A Strong academic record  such as a degree is required and a Master of Science in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, (Industrial) Engineering or a similar would be an advantage
  • A willingness to travel internationally to meet client needs



  • Experience with Data Historian and platform applications
  • Experience with Analytical modeling in programming language (i.e. R)
  • Experience with application design/development in MS Azure or any programming language
  • Additional European language skills would be an advantage – particularly German/ Spanish / Polish
