We currently are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager - Supply Chain & Operations to lead client engagement teams, work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services, and participate in business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts. Our Supply Chain & Operations team members provide insights into supply chain transformation covering Planning, Procurement, Operations and Logistics and often integrating with other competencies (Finance, IT, etc.) to deliver end to end solutions to clients. This team focuses on helping clients run their supply chains effectively in order to improve their business performance.


For our growing Supply Chain & Operations practice in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team, with experience in one or more of our focus areas, which are:


  • Planning – Assists clients in designing, implementing and optimizing Planning solutions including Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, S&OP and Inventory Management. This can include aligning procurement, production, distribution and fulfillment activities of a company on a timely basis within the lowest cost. Planning is cross functional in nature and requires significant collaboration within a company as well as with the trading partners such as key customers and suppliers. Planning brings together finance, product development, marketing, sales, manufacturing and supply chain together to minimize risks and capitalize on opportunities to deliver the maximum shareholder value. 

  • Procurement – Assists clients in designing, implementing and transforming their Sourcing and Procurement function, including Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, Procure to Pay, Supplier Risk Management, Commercial Excellence, Contract Management and Procurement Organization Design. You may also work to support implementation of Procurement technologies such as cloud procurement solutions, robotics process automation within Procurement, etc. 

  • Operations – Assists clients with optimizing their operations processes in the field of Manufacturing as well as Services. This ranges from organization wide operating model re-design and restructuring, to plant, department and process improvements, as well as the design and implementation of Continuous Improvement / Lean (Six Sigma) programs. We look at processes, systems, organization and performance management also take behavior and leadership into account. Lean (Six Sigma) principles and philosophy play an important role. 

  • Logistics - Assists clients with performance improvement related to the planning and execution of the flow of goods, information, and cash between sourcing locations, intermediate stocking and processing locations, to the point of consumption in order to address customer requirements. Service offers include logistics strategy, network design, global trade effectiveness, cost to serve analytics, warehouse management, transportation management, reverse logistics, and outsourcing.



As a Senior Manager your key role will be to lead large transformational client engagements as well as internal projects. Drawing on your knowledge, skills and experience, you will establish valued relationships with external clients at the ‘’C’’ level. You will lead large global and regional bids, proposals and thought leadership. You will lead teams at our clients, supporting them with improving their business performance. You will be responsible for presenting executive summary findings to enact change. You will manage multiple EY colleagues across levels and client team members. You will review other’s work to ensure it is of a high quality. You will mentor others as they progress in their own career.


Other important parts of your role are: 

  • Effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds while providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members

  • Actively establishing, maintaining and strengthening internal and external relationships at the ‘’C’’ level

  • Be a champion of diversity and inclusion within your project teams

  • Identify opportunities proactively across accounts and work with others to drive them forward

  • Anticipate and identify risks early and managing those risks with input from others on the team

  • In line with our commitment to quality, you'll determine that work is of high quality and present findings to senior executive client stakeholders

  • As a leader in the team, you'll create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop

  • Be an active leader in developing all team members

  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills

    You are thorough and result oriented and work together with the client on implementing solutions. You often work in an international environment on projects with a big impact on company results.

For this position we would like to get in touch with Professionals who have a passion for the above topics and possess:


  • Approximately 8+ years of work experience in one or more of the focus areas described above, with a proven record of transformational experience to achieve positive outcomes and change in the organization

  • Approximately 3+ years of recent experience within a consulting environment

  • A bachelor’s degree preferably with the emphasis in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Logistics with strong academic records

  • Demonstrated record of working with ‘’C’’ level individuals at large multinational companies

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members

  • Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full lifecycle of assessment, design and implementation support

  • Strong analytical skills, conceptual thinking, communication and influencing skills

  • A proven ability to team effectively with diverse groups

  • Strong software skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Microsoft Visio

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • A willingness to travel internationally to meet client needs


  • Additional European language skills would be an advantage – particularly Dutch or French

  • A master’s degree with emphasis in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Logistics with strong academic records

  • A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is an advantage

Certifications in Planning, Procurement, Logistics or Manufacturing or other areas of Supply Chain
