Spearhead proposals and projects that will shape the future of the food industry. An opportunity to drive an impactful change while enjoying work-life balance through remote work.

About Bright Green Partners

Bright Green Partners is a global alternative protein focused consulting house that was founded in 2020 and is dedicated to transforming meat and dairy production to solve some of the world's biggest challenges.

We work with leading global food and biotech companies and governments to help them navigate the emerging plant-based, fermentation-derived, and cultivated meat and dairy industries. Our services include strategy, innovation, and operational consulting, and we guide our clients from the initial stages of their journey all the way to large-scale production and market entry.

We're a young and ambitious consultancy with a strong track record of growth and a range of satisfied global customers, including Kraft Heinz and Ajinomoto. Over the first 2.5 years of our organization, we established a robust foundation for our company, from proposal and business delivery procedures to finance and beyond.

Our processes draw from the best elements of large consulting and the specialized expertise of topic experts. In practice, our project management and general quality are similar to those of large consulting firms, while the depth of our insights is significantly more detailed. We achieve this by combining our in-house team of seven generalist consultants, many of whom come from top consulting firms like Bain and Kearney, with insights from our network of over 2,000 freelance experts we source on a project-by-project basis.

We're looking for a motivated and skilled Principal to join our team and contribute to our mission of creating a more sustainable and resilient food system.

About the role

The Principal role we're looking to fill is similar to that in large consulting, so you will lead all proposal processes and projects. As a Principal, you will coordinate and be responsible for a team of about 10 people, including junior consultants, project managers, and project-based external consultants, to create proposals and execute projects.

Reporting directly to Floor Buitelaar, Managing Partner, you will play a key role in driving the future growth and success of our organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading proposal processes and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of consulting services
  • Overseeing the work of project managers and other team members to ensure quality and timely completion of projects
  • Providing strong vision on project deliverables, structure and methodology, which the project team will apply directly in a project.
  • Writing proposals that meet clients' expectations and align with our mission and values
  • Serving as the account lead for our current clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of our consulting methodologies and tools
  • Mentoring and developing consultants to help them achieve their professional goals

What you will bring in

  • To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience working at a tier 1 or 2 management consulting firm or strategy consulting firm, such as Bain, BCG, McKinsey, or similar.
  • You should have worked as a project manager at a large consulting firm for at least 1 year, with experience executing, leading, and ideally supervising projects and proposals in the consulting industry.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating and leading project teams, including senior consultants and project managers, so it's essential to have experience managing project teams before. You should have strong communication skills and the ability to drive discussions and influence perspectives at the C-level. Excellent time management skills are also essential as this role involves many responsibilities and interactions with various stakeholders.
  • A passion for the alternative protein industry is a must-have for this role, demonstrating a deep personal interest and commitment to the field, as well as a willingness to stay informed and engaged with the latest developments and trends.
  • It's a requirement to have a European work permit and live within Europe.
  • Ideally, you are located in the Netherlands and have a good understanding of alternative protein, food, or biotech industry. Additionally, holding a Master's degree is preferred for this role.

What we offer

  • Fast-paced onboarding in the alternative protein industry
  • Remote working lifestyle (within Europe; outside of Europe is discussible with European working hours)
  • Bi-annual meet-ups with the whole company in varying locations in Europe
  • Occasional additional travels for client meetings and internal strategy sessions
  • Typical work week of 40-50 hours, allowing for a good work-life balance
  • Salary indication: annual salary of €100.000-130.000 and a bonus of €25.000-50.000, of which 50% is based on company performance and 50% on personal performance.

Company culture

  • We're a team of highly passionate individuals who share a common goal of shaping the future of meat and dairy with a commercial focus.
  • We have a serious approach to our work but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We're a relatively small consultancy with an entrepreneurial spirit and look for people who enjoy such an environment. In other words, you'll need to book your flight tickets.
  • We're a remote company and value our employees' independence and flexibility.
  • We understand the importance of a good work-life balance and believe that it leads to better productivity and overall well-being.
