Your job

As a Data Engineer Sr. Manager, you will be in our Applied Intelligence team, which is part of the Strategy & Consulting practice. You will work directly with our clients in the Netherlands and sometimes also abroad to advise them on their data challenges. In your work, you will build a strong network with the largest internationally operating companies as well as advise clients on their data strategy, design solution architectures and leading teams in their journey to continuously develop and deploy these platforms. In our team we expect Sr. Managers to be responsible for (parts off) the sales pipeline and we like to help our clients with a great understanding of data engineering problems which our clients might face and being able to effectively convert this understanding to value for our clients.

Our clients expect us to help out with the most complex problems in terms of time-space complexity as well as making sure that the paths they take are scalable and sustainable.
As part of your day to day activities, you will be working with the largest big data vendors in the world and the top clients in the Netherlands and abroad.

Your background

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field ( Computer Science, Engineering or Econometrics, Mathematics ).
• 7+ years of professional experience.
• You know your way around distributed computing, distributed storage, and containerization; Spark, Airflow, Kafka, SQL & NoSQL, Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experienced in programming with Python or Scala.
• Experienced in CI/CD.
• Experienced in Infra as Code.
• Experience with Agile/Safe
• Strong communication skills: able to transform business requirements into use cases and explain your work in non-technical terms to business stakeholders.
• Effective communication in Dutch and English.
