Sales Leader Health & Benefits Netherlands (Head of Client Growth)


The role
As the Health and Benefits Netherlands Sales Leader, you are responsible for bringing on new clients to the company and expand revenue on our existing clients. You will have the strength of the WTW brand, deep people resources and the latest intellectual capital/solutions to meet clients their health, wellbeing, absence and broader risk management needs.

Our Health and Benefits Netherlands business helps local and international corporate and mid-market clients manage their health, wellbeing, absence and (insured) benefits risks and costs. As the Sales Leader, you and your team mainly focus on improving the client relationship and increase revenue from both existing and new clients. You provide your clients  solutions regarding insured benefits, health consultancy, absence and long term disability management. Product based solutions such as our e-learning and employee communication tooling, are also an important part of our focus to help clients.
In this role you will be ultimately responsible for delivering a go to market strategy to improve existing client relationships and obtain new clients. You will focus on generating leads and closing business by developing and managing an active pipeline of prospects, conducting a needs analysis/risk assessment and, together with colleagues, present and share information on our capabilities. Additionally, you will promote awareness of opportunities for other Business Lines in our company. Although all services we offer are equally important, you will focus on selling our Absence, Wellbeing and Health Consulting solutions.

In this role, we expect you to:

  • Be primary accountable for creating and executing a business strategy to penetrate the local and regional market in obtaining existing and new Health and Benefits clients 
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets 
  • Serve as strategist for clients, ensuring that Health and Benefits design meets client needs and fits within overall client strategy
  • Track, analyze and present sales metrics
  • Work within relevant compliance and excellence guidelines at all times
  • Contribute to client management, retention and expansion once brought on board
  • Raise awareness of WTW’s capabilities in the marketplace through conference appearances and various other profile building venues 
  • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches in the client space
  • Demonstrate an open and inclusive style of leadership, ensuring the team to be able to develop themselves in a safe working environment
  • Rolemodel in driving and empowering a culture where people work based on trust and teamwork, show their talents and have the possibility to grow and add value
  • Work closely with the Leadership team to execute on the Health and Benefits Netherlands strategy
  • Build relationships with sales and marketing team and consultants within and outside H&B to effectively collaborate on sales opportunities

The requirements

  • Experience as Sales Leader in the Health and Benefits market in the Netherlands (> 5 years)
  • Experience in selling Absence, Wellbeing and Health Consulting services (> 2 years)
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Proven track record of obtaining completely new Health and Benefits clients in the large and mid-market client consulting space, typically gained in a brokerage and/or (health) consulting environment
  • Deep understanding of mid-sized and/or large employer market segment and their unique demands and purchasing style 
  • Core knowledge of health and (insured) benefit design and strategy
  • Proven ability to establish relationships and work collaboratively with team members in other practices at all levels to effectively close business
  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in the social security system in the Netherlands and contributing to the development of new tools and strategies
