Within our fast-growing Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice (hereafter referred to as “FAAS Financial Services”) we are currently recruiting a Senior Advisor with knowledge of treasury operations.
FAAS Financial Services
The FAAS Financial Services practice is an advisory team working at the forefront of the latest changes in financial & prudential regulation and reporting. We advise clients on how to adapt to the changing regulatory and accounting landscape and support them by addressing their core needs. This entails owning the key topics on the CFO agenda, providing exceptional client service and building long-lasting relationships with our clients. We are keen on diversity both in terms of our people and in the level of interaction with numerous other service lines within EY. We deliver advisory services on several areas including Financial & Prudential Reporting, Regulatory Supervision, Transaction Accounting and Financial Information, Treasury Services, Extended Assurance and Audit support.
FAAS Financial Services - Treasury
The Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team specializes in advising clients on the practical implementation of new accounting and regulatory standards as well as assisting clients in interpreting and complying with existing regulatory and financial accounting standards. Given the dynamic and innovative landscape of financial products, the need to understand and implement new regulation in a changing environment, presents the added complexity which FAAS specialists seek to address while working with their clients.
The Treasury sub-team currently sits as part of the financial services team, covering both bank- and corporate treasuries. Particular areas of focus at present include cash pooling and general cash management, hedging and developing hedge accounting solutions. The team is working with a number of financial institutions and corporate clients on these and other opportunities. We also support corporate and financial institutions with other issues more generally for their treasury operations. We work with channel 1 (audit) and channel 2 (non-audit) clients alike. For channel 1, we are part of a formal process supporting audit teams on complex treasury related matters. We also have excellent links with other treasury experts within FAAS EMEIA.
For the position of Senior Advisor within the FAAS Treasury practice we are looking for colleagues with the following qualifications:
You have an academic degree in Corporate Finance, Accounting & Control, Economics or a related financial- or business field
Willingness to obtain a Treasury, risk management or similar professional qualification (e.g., AMCT, RT, CFA, RC, ACCA)
Ability to lead teams and supervise junior team members
Previous experience with treasury, cash management and financial or prudential reporting
Technically sound and an understanding and appreciation of recent industry developments
Eager to dive into new topics and to learn new skills
International mind-set and willingness to travel
Keen on working independently in a growing business environment
Able to make connections both internally and externally
Strong interpersonal skills: written, presentation and influencing
Skilled with a natural curiosity and able to excel in an environment with a lot of freedom and responsibility
Teamwork is an energizer to you and you like working across multiple projects
Ability to network effectively and build strong relationships with individuals and clients
3 - 7 years of relevant working experience within the financial services or corporate treasury environment
Experience in consulting, ideally developed in the banking sector is highly appreciated
Preferably a native Dutch speaker with excellent skills in English (both oral and in writing)
