Double Effect is currently recruiting for different levels within its Finance, Risk and Control (FR&C) practice in Amsterdam. The FR&C practice is undergoing a period of growth and there are exciting opportunities for the right candidates to contribute to the development of the practice in Amsterdam and beyond.

The position
Experienced Credit Risk Management Advisor Financial Services / Potential Team Lead

The role will be dependent on experience, but at all levels responsibilities will include typical consulting activities:

  • Deliver specific projects on client site individually and as part of Double Effect and client teams;
  • Engage with clients to deliver practical solutions;
  • Project management;
  • Practice development and entrepreneurship;
  • Proposition and solution development;
  • Client proposal development and sales support;
  • Client presentations;
  • Contributing to vision development, white papers and thought leadership.

Your profile
As an Experienced Credit Risk Management Advisor Financial Services, you will have the following background:

General requirements:

  • A minimum of five year experience within the financial services industry (banking and/or insurance);
  • Experience of either performing a risk management role in a financial services organization in retail and or corporate banking, or as a consultant to such an organisation.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of capital markets and/or wholesale banking and/or retail banking or insurance products;
  • Broad knowledge of regulatory and economic factors impacting the industry;
  • Strong ability to explain technical concepts to senior stakeholders- exhibiting and understanding of strategic levers and governance mechanisms;
  • Understanding of finance and risk reporting;
  • Knowledge of credit and lending business processes;
  • Experience with theoretical aspects of modelling or developing quantitative risk models;
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management processes (risk assessment, monitoring and reporting), and organization (strategy, governance, policies);
  • Experience with quantitative risk measurement and/or pricing across corporate credit risk and/or consumer credit risk, and capital management within a bank is a pre;
  • Knowledge of financial markets and counterparty risk is a pre;
  • Knowledge of finance processes, and provisioning, forbearance and IFRS 9 particularly, is a pre;
  • Experience with data management (data governance models, data flow design/analysis, data integration architecture) is an advantage.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Project management and delivery excellence;
  • Extensive experience with writing business cases, good presentation skills and analytical ability.

Additional Requirements:

  • 100% travel to client site may be required;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch and English;
  • Key words: Ambitious, strong analytical skills, pragmatic, result-driven, entrepreneurship, self-starter, persistence and enthusiasm.
