Utrecht Sustainability Challenge, May 18 & 19
"What is your solution for Utrecht?"
- Trude Maas, chairman of the Utrecht Development Board
“It’s about implementation...”
In two days you will be working on solutions to one of the most important challenges for the city of Utrecht. Making the city a sustainable place to live. The Utrecht Development Board prioritized sustainability as one of the key focus areas for the city. How can we convert all the knowledge and ideas on sustainability into actions which really make a difference? And what can the people in the city do?
“Together, not alone”
The Utrecht Sustainability Challenge emerged as a cooperation between the city of Utrecht, the Utrecht Development Board, Utrecht University and McKinsey & Company. During the two days you will work together with these stakeholders—because we strongly believe in the power of connections between people with different backgrounds.
“We have done the thinking, right now we have to make it work”
You will be challenged to come up with real and meaningful initiatives, which can actually work: “Sustainability = Action”. You will present your ideas to the Utrecht Development Board.
“It’s nice to talk, but it’s even nicer to do”
If you are an ambitious student who expects to graduate from Utrecht University within 2 years from now, you can apply for the Utrecht Sustainability Challenge. We are looking for people with diverse backgrounds who are willing to take the challenge.
You can sign up online on this website. We need your resume, transcripts from high school and transcripts from university. Application deadline is 25 of April. In the week after that, McKinsey & Company will let you know whether you are invited to join the challenge!
