Martin is the founder of M3. His motivation is the tangible parts of his role: the smell of kerosene, big moving machinery and the presence of dangerous chemicals. He loves to be on the ground and at the heart of operations, so that he can get a first-hand sense of how a client’s product or service works. Martin studied Civil Engineering in Delft and holds an MBA from the universities of Rotterdam and Kellogg, Chicago. His career began with Nedlloyd Road Cargo and after this, he worked with AT Kearney—thus developing experience in the aviation industry, which he now brings to M3. Outside of work, Martin maintains his passion for teamwork, whether that is speed cycling or playing the baritone saxophone.
Combining the strengths of all team players will eventually lead to the best performance. I enjoy working together with colleagues and clients so we can achieve the greatest results.
Erwin joined M3 shortly after it was founded. He likes the challenges that come with transforming supply chain and operations for big industry where there is a beast to tame—such as the steel industry. He also enjoys working in the consumer goods industry where the quick pace of innovation ensures he always learns something new. He works closely with senior leadership teams on increasing the value from operations. Erwin studied Technology Management at Eindhoven University of Technology and his consultancy career began working with Turner where he developed experience in supply chain implementation and transformation. In his spare time, Erwin likes sailing and sees the sport as a metaphor for life: you can’t control the wind, but you can do a lot to compensate.
I get passionate about the untapped value still locked away in supply chains all over the world. I love how together with our clients we get to think of the big strategic ideas that unlock this value.
Arjan van Moorsel—Partner
Arjan came to M3 as an experienced manager with broad consultancy skills. He describes himself as a challenger and sees customer experience as the most important aspect of what he does - striving for quality service and solutions. Before M3, Arjan worked in finance and control and in operational and commercial management roles in the printing industry. He enjoys working with hard industries and finds satisfaction in finding valuable solutions for the clients he works with. He says consultancy is as much about people, as it is about analytics, and stresses how important it is to guide people forward by building trust and belief. Outside of work Arjan is a sports enthusiast and likes to improve his local community by getting involved in infrastructure and other projects.
It’s great to work in consulting. With the pace at which companies adapt their chains to capture innovations and to increase customer value, serving them is highly motivating.
Barry Hoogendoorn—Senior Manager
Barry joined M3 after years working as a consultant. He finds client contact the energising factor – he wants to know their heart and mind, what makes them tick, as he believes the stronger the client-consultant relationship is, the more effective the outcome will be. Barry has worked in a variety of sectors, including banking, hospitals and wholesale. He enjoys working with smart people in complex businesses, where there is an intellectual challenge. Previous to his career, Barry studied Econometrics at Tilburg University. He admits he finds it difficult to forget about work, but sailing and his voluntary pursuit – being an assessor for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award for young people, offer an absorbing respite.
I get a real kick when our clients successfully implement our work.
Eric Jan Pelt—Senior Manager
Eric Jan joined M3 after a career in operations and management consulting. Having worked on oilrigs, he embraces the variety of companies, countries, environments and people that come with his role - he enjoys having the ability to complete one project, to then move on to something new and completely different right after. Previous to M3, Eric Jan has worked with Shell, A.T. Kearney, Mobiltel (Bulgaria) and Rabobank, before that, he studied Petroleum Engineering in Delft and holds an MBA from INSEAD. When he is not working, Eric Jan enjoys cooking, simply because it is so different from work - whilst there is pressure in presenting a meal to guests, he argues that it is “relaxing” pressure.
I always pay extra attention to improving procedures that are seemingly well in place. Doing common things uncommonly and using a different perspective to solve problems, gives me a great sense of achievement.
Sander joined M3 several years ago and is now one of two managers. One of the most rewarding aspects of his role is the difference his input can have on an organisation - he enjoys creating partnerships with clients and the challenge of not only defining the solution to the problem but really making it work. Before M3, Sander completed internships at OC&C Strategy Consultants and logistic service provider Centraal Boekhuis. He has developed experience working within the aviation and manufacturing sectors whilst at M3 and likes how each project has redefined his role. When he’s not persuading clients, Sander enjoys keeping in shape by taking part in triathlons and carrying out home improvements.
I always endeavour the best results. I love focusing on solutions instead of problems because you don’t have to be ill to get better.
Marco Heimensem - Manager
Marco joined M3 5-years ago after the completion of a Mechanical Engineering degree at Delft University where he specialised in offshore engineering. He embraces the two elements of his role: the intellectual and the operational, in that he can turn his ideas into something to change the way a company thinks and works. Marco describes himself as someone who likes to crunch data and solve problems. Sailing— is something he enjoys in his spare time, as well as playing squash and analysing stock markets. What Marco finds most rewarding working in consultancy is the ability to change established perceptions of how things should be done—for him, proving the sceptics wrong is what it’s about.
I keep pushing myself, so I can deliver the best results. To learn the most, I always position myself among those that are passionate and eager to learn.
Tim de Jonge—Associate
Tim joined M3 after the completion of his master’s degree in Operations Management and Logistics at the Eindhoven University of Technology - since then he has worked on projects for companies like Sandd and Tata Steel. What he likes most about his role is its diversity: working with different companies and people, and having the opportunity to travel. Communication is important to Tim, as it’s only then can one understand a process to create a story and improve upon it. Away from the office, Tim enjoys cooking multiple-course meals for large groups of friends (desserts in particular) and organising team-building events, such as games targeted at students and corporations.
We make companies win by improving their operations and supply chain. However, I get the real energy boost from supporting the people within those organisations and to see them grow.
Tim van Pelt—Associate
Tim joined the team 1-year ago after studying Operations Management and Logistics at Eindhoven University of Technology and Strategic Management at Tilburg University. He is an energetic and inquisitive analyst with a wide interest in business operations. Tim likes the balance he has found in his role at M3: that is the analytical part – creating digital models and simulations of reality, and the part where he gets to visits sites, meet clients and find out what they do. What sets him aside are his creativity and keen eye for detail without losing sight of the end result. Whilst he enjoys travelling for work, Tim also enjoys travelling the world: his first trip entailed five months in South East Asia and he is thinking about his second adventure.
We celebrate our success, but then move on and focus on the future. Because yesterday’s home runs don’t win today’s games.
Bas is the latest addition to the team. After studying Aerospace Engineering at Delft University, he came to M3 with aim to start a career in consulting. Bas finds the diversity that comes with working as a consultant most attractive—to be able to work alongside a variety of different industries and people. Aviation is Bas’s first passion, and he hopes his experience with M3 will enable him to focus on the industry in the future with greater expertise and knowledge. Outside of his professional life, Bas has done a great deal of travelling around the world—and wants to do more. His hobbies include hockey, skiing, listening to and playing music.
Fixing complex operation problems is what I love and I never avoid a challenge. Discovering the solution of an issue and helping clients achieve their results, is what gives me satisfaction.

At M3, we embrace complexity. We enjoy learning about the how and why of your organisation. It is during this process that we come up with our best ideas. From the review of data to talking to your people. Only at this point can we then apply our experience and logic to arrive at a pragmatic solution.
We are honest, opinionated, and always ready to back up our arguments with facts and figures. We believe that results are meaningful and withstanding only when they are achieved in close cooperation with you, our customer. We want to make your supply chain first class and a continuous source of value for your organisation.
